Oliver Moldow

Sandy Curth founded Element in 2016 with a mission to bridge the gap between the realworld behaviors of performance materials and the computational engineering tools used to design complex assemblies. Following a circuitous path from astrophysics to mechanical engineering, to architecture, and ultimately to a PhD in Design and Computation at MIT, his multidisciplinary design skill set and extensive hands on experience in machining and materials engineering gives him unique insight into modern day design and manufacturing challenges.

Oliver Moldow joined Element in 2020, bringing expertise in mechatronics, textile engineering and engineered wood products. He has extensive experience in digital fabrication and the computational challenges of responsive systems. He holds a Master of Science in Integrative Technologies and Architectural Design Research from the University of Stuttgart and a BA from University of California, Berkeley in Design with an emphasis on mechanical engineering and architecture. He has practiced computational design at Figure Office and ZHCode.
